Workshop-for-Secondary-Vocational-School-Students

Within the framework of the CADMUS Project, Algebra Bernays University hosted a cybersecurity workshop for students from the 3rd and 4th grades of Faust Vrančić Secondary Vocational School. The workshop, titled “New Generation Firewalls in the Business Environment,” was organised as part of the project’s activities aimed at strengthening cybersecurity competencies through innovative educational approaches and practical training.

The workshop introduced students to key concepts related to network security and cyber defence in modern business environments. Through a combination of theoretical presentations and hands-on exercises, participants gained practical insight into cybersecurity challenges and protection mechanisms commonly used in professional practice.

During the activity, students:
• explored the fundamentals of networking and cybersecurity,
• learned about security threats and attacks targeting network services,
• practised configuring and applying firewall protection measures,
• and became familiar with cybersecurity laboratory equipment and learning environments at the University.

The activity contributes to the broader objectives of the CADMUS project, which focuses on enhancing cybersecurity skills, supporting vocational education, and encouraging young people to consider future careers in the cybersecurity sector. By combining theoretical knowledge with practical application, the project promotes innovative and inclusive learning opportunities adapted to the evolving needs of the digital society and labour market.

In addition to student-oriented activities, the CADMUS project is also developing specialised educational workshops for vocational school teachers, including practical exercises based on Cyber Range environments. These activities aim to strengthen the capacity of educators to deliver high-quality cybersecurity education and support the development of future cyber professionals.
The CADMUS consortium continues to implement dissemination, training, and educational activities across partner institutions, contributing to the promotion of cybersecurity awareness and digital resilience at the European level.
